Waterton Lakes Camping

 

Waterton Lakes National Park is the ideal location for recreational activities like camping. Campers, or adventure lovers,can celebrate nature by exploring the great outdoors and wilderness of Waterton. 
Waterton Lakes Camping is open from mid-May to Labour Day. Most campgrounds include, lake or creek water sources, dry washrooms, fire grates, open kitchen shelters, and potential for hiking and fishing. Campers must make a reservation for a site and purchase a Wilderness pass. Children under the age of 16 may camp free of charge. A variety of accommodations are offered by each campsite to provide you with comfort and other facilities in the great outdoors.
Waterton offers various campgrounds that are vehicle-accessible. They are:
•    Waterton Townsite: located in the Waterton village, the campground offers 238 fully and semi-serviced sites with washrooms, showers, sewage disposal, camp kitchens, walk-in tent sites and 45 sites with electricity.
•    Belly River Campground: located along the Chief Mountain Highway, the campground offers 24 subserviced sites with primitive washrooms, camp kitchens, food storage and fire rings.
•    Belly River Group Camp: located in Waterton Park, the campground offers 2 subserviced sites, primitive washrooms and camp kitchen. Reservation for the site is advisable.
•    Crandell Mountain: located in Blackstone Valley along the scenic Red Rock Parkway, the campground offers 129 subserviced sites, washrooms, camp kitchen and sewage disposal. No reservations are required for thesecampsites.
•    Pass Creek Winter Camp: located in Waterton Park, the campground offers 8 subserviced sites, pit toilets and camp kitchen. No reservations are required for these campsites.
•    Wilderness Camping: for backcountry camping, you will need to stop at the Information center to get details on the current trail conditions and also to book a site. The reservations should be made at least 90 days in advance and the Wilderness pass is a must for overnight stays.
