Wildflower festival in Waterton


Wildflower festival in Waterton is a multi day award winning festival which includes the beauty of scented, colorful wildflowers, arts, music, mouth watering delicacies, and a whole lot more. The festival is organized by the Trail of the Great Bear and Partners.
Waterton Lakes National Park is home to more than 50 percent of Alberta's wildflowers - more than any other Rocky Mountain National Park. Over 50 of Canada's rare flowers grow within Waterton's boundaries, 30 of which are found only in Waterton Lakes.
The ninth annual Wildflower festival in Waterton is to take place from June 16-24, 2012.
Many educational courses on flora, fauna, ecosystems, climate, insects, art and craft, drawing and painting, photography, are also featured in the festival.
You can take part in various activities like: Wildflowers by Cruise boat and Horseback, Wildflower identification, workshops for photography, art and craft, Wildflower habitat and much more.
The beautiful festival is filled with the flowers in most amazing colors and scents, music and dance, education and fun and the idyllic scenery.

Border Crossing Waterton


World’s first International Peace Park is located at the Border crossing of Waterton and Glacier National Park known as Waterton glacier International Peace Park. The very famous and touching ceremony of “Hands across the Border” can be attended by anyone travelling to Waterton National Park; with the only condition that you have pre-booked a seat for the ceremony.

Waterton National Park shares the border with United States forming six ports of entry:

1.    Aden, Alberta/Whitlash, Montana
2.    Carway, Alberta/Peigan, Montana
3.    Del Bonita, Alberta/Del Bonita, Montanna
4.    Wild Horse, Alberta/Wild Horse, Montana
5.    Coutts, Alberta/Sweetgrass, Montana  (open all year, daily 24 hour service)
6.    Chief Mountain, Alberta/Chief Mountain, Montana

•    Persons under 18 years traveling without their parents should have a letter of authorization from a parent or guardian to travel into Canada.
